In The Twilight Kingdom for string orchestra [1981] is  Richard Jordan Smoot’s first work for orchestra (specifically string orchestra). Originally created for Timothy Russell and the Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra, the title is from a line in a T.S. Eliot poem. The work was also presented by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra as well as Vit Micka and the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra.
